About us

Peterborough Currents is a grassroots community journalism project, created by passionate young journalists based in the Peterborough area.

We are grassroots community journalism project, which means we are created by willing volunteers with a passion and enthusiasm to learn. Anyone can join in and help create.

We make a podcast, which is a downloadable audio program available over the Internet.

We do a program broadcast through Trent Radio, in addition to our podcast we make live radio.

We help each other create stories. Part of being a community project means we help each other out, provide feedback and support each other in the production process. For some producers that means little support, for others it can be pretty involved.

We are volunteers interested in creating journalism.

We get out into the community and ask questions.
